Lyric Baritone, Orlando J. Spikes, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he matriculated as a student of Wagnerian tenor, David Smith and as a recipient of a full COA Linehan Artist Award. He has pursued graduate studies at the renowned Peabody Conservatory. Mr. Spikes serves as the Director of Music and Chancel Choir conductor at Hunt's Memorial United Methodist Church which was founded in 1773 during the advent of our nation’s history.

In addition to his work as a conductor, Mr. Spikes is also a highly-respected studio teacher. He maintains an active voice and piano studio in the Baltimore area having successfully taught scores of students. Mr. Spikes holds memberships with the National Association for Music Education (MENC), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and teaches students in five different locations.

Mr. Spikes is a versatile artist with performance experience in opera, chamber music, art song, oratorio, musical theater, pop and jazz. He has completed concerts with the Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore, UMBC Camerata, Vocal Arts and New Music Ensembles including performances of works by W.A. Mozart, G.F Handel, Beethoven, Herbert Brun, Christian Wolff, Verdi, Donizetti and John Rutter at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore among others.

Orlando lives in the Baltimore suburbs with his wife, violinist, Meg Mizumoto and their two dogs, Dice and Billie.
