Guaranteed Singing Success?

We live in a world where we want a guaranteed minimum return on our investments or a way out of those investments. If you've ever owned or worked for a small business, you understand the significant expense of providing a service and refunding those services for any reason a customer can dream up. Fortunately for music business owners, customers only request refunds about 1% of the time when offered, but here's the catch: the risk of offerring that guarantee has to be mitigated by charging more to everyone else. This of course means that as a consumer, you pay for about every 100th customer's dissatisfaction with the lesson services you value, pay for and enjoy.

No voice or piano teacher can or should guarantee you anything without an understanding of your current skill level and the effort you're willing and able to put forth. Remember that a teacher is a guide and facilitator, but the ultimate responsibility for success or failure lies in your hands. With that thought in mind, taking lessons with a teacher who has trained a few well-known singers will not alone make you a good singer because you don't know their circumstances. In short, a guarantee is worthless if you are not willing to do your part.

How much singing success can you guarantee me? The answer is none. There are independent music educators who will try, but you pay for it in the end.
